spring into summer: 5 skincare changes you need to make now!

Do you keep the same skincare routine all year? If the answer is yes, Im going to change the game for you!

Just as the seasons change, our skin changes too. You’ll notice skin tends to get drier or less oily in the winter. your skin might become irritated quicker, and if your already struggling with acne or rosacea the winter won’t help that much either. However in the summer you can experience more oils on your skin and, the heat of summer can cause hyperpigmentation especially since we all love to be outside during that time.

Its essential we change with the season and our skin! So lets adapt your skincare routine for optimal skin health. Lets dive in!

  1. Switch up the cleanse!

As temperature rises, its time to put the creamy, milk cleansers in the cabinet and opt for something a little stronger that foams. Foaming cleansers effectively remove excess oil, dirt, and impurities leaving your skin feeling refreshed and revitalized. Look for gentle formulas that won’t strip your skin! My faves for summer are Lira Clinical’s Bio enzyme cleanser (Good for all skin types!) and Ice Sal cleanser (good for combo or oily skin)

  2. More frequent, Lighter exfoliation!

During the warmer month, it’s important to adjust your exfoliation routine to keep your skin radiant and smooth. Swap out the strong chemical exfoliants and scrubs and opt for lighter alternatives. Instead of me using Lira Clinical’s Pro anti-aging pads I like to use either illuminating polisher or Pro brightening mask as an overnight mask! That combo is my favorite!

  3. The lighter the better!

Hydration is a skincare must, regardless of the season or your skin type. However, in spring and summer its best to go for a lightweight hydrating serum and moisturizers. You know the best Hyaluronic acid serum is the Hydra Infusion from Lira Clinical. For moisturizer I have a few options I like to switch between! ill either use the Ice Balancing Lotion, Mystiq Beauty Oil, or just my hydrating SPF!

  4. Reapply Your SPF! Every 2 hours!!

Protecting your skin from harmful UV rays should be top priority all year, but as we are spending more time outside this time of year. Make sure your sunscreen is broad spectrum SPF 30 or higher. Remember to reapply every 2 hours! Your SPF stops working every 2 hours.

  5. Less is More!

In the spirit of embracing lighter and a more carefree vibe the spring and summer has, I want you to think less is more! Streamline your products and focus on the essentials. This will not only simplify your routine but also give your skin a chance to breathe and thrive in the warmer weather.

By following these 5 simple changes, you can ensure that your skin stays healthy, refresh, and protected during the spring and summer. Remember skincare is a journey and its all about finding what works best for you. enjoy the season with confidence and a radiant complexion.
